KARAK, 24 March: Professor Dr. Khanzadi Fatima Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the Women University, Swabi has been given the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry Fellowship award in London.
The award was presented to her by Professor John Holman, president of the Royal Society of Chemistry, at a ceremony held at the society’s headquarters in London.
The award is given for her outstanding contributions in the field of chemical sciences. Prior to assuming the office of VC of Women University, Swabi, Professor Khanzadi Khattak has served on various key positions in the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission for over 20.
Dr. Khanzadi hails from Karak, a southern district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She has a Ph. D and post-doctoral degrees in chemistry. She is the first Pakistani female scholar to achieve the prestigious award.
The Royal Society of Chemistry was established in 1841, and is the oldest chemical society in the world with the mission to advance excellence in the chemical sciences.
