CHITRAL: The cleanliness campaign launched by the Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Shandur the scenic area of Chitral to clear the mass littering left by the tourists was concluded on Wednesday.
Following the conclusion of Shandur annual festival trail of mass garbage made out of plastic bottles, snack packs and various other trash were spread at an area of around two kilometers which destroying the image of the scenic spot. TCKP and the Chitral district administration have launched the cleanliness campaign to restore the beauty of the scenic spot of Shandur.
About 50 volunteers participated in the campaign to clear the two kilometers area of garbage and littering. Volunteers helped KP tourism department in cleaning up mess left by tourists.
After Eid-Ul-Fitr, a record number of tourists and visitors had visited the popular attractive spots of the province.
TCKP have received several complaints of the garbage accumulated in the tourists’ spots. Acting on the complaints the provincial tourism department had launched cleanliness campaign in these areas to remove the trash left by tourists.
The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had launched cleanliness campaign to remove the trash and other things littered among the banks of Harnoi River in Abbottabad, Nathiagali, Mansehra and Shandur to bring it back to its full glory. The department collaborated with the volunteers to make sure that the scenic spots were cleared of all garbage.
