CHITRAL: Plantation drive was kicked off in Chitral with free distribution of saplings. Division Forest Officer (DFO) Chitral Muhammad Saleem Marwat distributed 12000 sapling among the public through Tehsil Nazim Chitral Muhammad Ilyas during a ceremony.

Speaking at the occasion, DFO Saleem Marwat said that no project can be successful without ownership and involvement of local community. He urged the people to plant and take care of the saplings and contribute towards the efforts to overcome shortage of forests in the country.

Tehsil Nazim Mulvi Muhammad Ilyas said that plantation is considered to be a virtuous deed yielding continuous good, and that Islam has urged everyone to plant trees and take care of living things.

Later on he distributed free plants among the local people under the KPK government’s Billion Tree Afforestation Project . Sub Divisional Forest Officer Asif Ali shah and other were also present on the occasion.
