MIRAN SHAH: Telephone services went out of order in Serai Darpakhel area of North Waziristan causing immense problems to local residents to contact their near and dear ones.
Local residents said that they have been cut off from the rest of the country and cannot contact their relatives living in other cities of the country.
They said that they have lodged a complaint with Pakistan Telecommunication Limited and lamented that no one came to repair it.
They urged the district government to direct the PTCL to restore the service so that they could communicate with their relatives through telephonic call and social media.
Data Internet and mobile phone services have not been provided to the district by cellular compamies despite peace has returned in the area.
Over the last 12 years, the district has witnessed worst kind of extremism that made the region inaccessible for telcos to extend their services there.
