PESHAWAR: Employees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration outside Peshawar High Court (PHC) against handing over of the training centers’ management to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Shaheen Foundation.

The protesting employees said that the provincial government has handed over management of 11 out of 35 TEVTA’s training centers to Shaheen Foundation without any legislation. They said that now the Shaheen Foundation has sacked a large number of employees of TEVTA’s training centers. Majority of the protesters were women who alleged that their years of service is going to be wasted due to wrong policies of the provincial government.

They said that the acts of the provincial government in entering into joint ventures with public sector bodies is illegal and in conflict with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Act 2015, for violating the provisions of the said Act, as well violating the rights of the petitioners.
