Chitral: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a young man, identified as Umair Haider, from Chitral city today on charges of hacking and defacing an online news site.

Haider, reportedly, has confessed his crime, and he has been shifted to Peshawar for further investigation.

According to details, the online news site Chitral Times was hacked on 11th of September, and defaced a couple of weeks back. The website’s owner/editor, Saif-ur-Rehman Aziz approached the law enforcing authorities to launch a complaint.

FIA’s cyber-crimes wing traced the hacker and arrested the young man, who has recently graduated in software engineering from Bahria University, Islamabad.

This is the first arrest of a hacker form the Chitral district.
