LANDIKOTAL: Doctors kept the Khyber Agency Headquarters Hospital in Landikotal closed on the second consecutive day in protest against the prolonged power outages causing severe problems for the patients.

The protesting doctors alleged that 16-hour electricity load shedding is being carried out in the hospital and that they could not perform duties due to the prolonged power outages. The doctors feared that anti-polio vaccine and other preventive vaccines could spoil if the electricity outages continued.

The doctors warned to keep the hospital lock until the load shedding problem was resolved.

Due to hospital closure, score of patients who arrived the hospital from far flung areas were faced with miseries as several were compelled to visit hospitals in Peshawar.
