NOWSHERA: A 14-year-old student was shot, injured allegedly by three persons when he resisted their sexual assault in Nowshera, police said on Tuesday.

Three armed men took the student, Saifullah to a jungle on the riverside in Nowshwera Kalan on gunpoint and tried to sexually abuse him. The accused opened fire on Saifullah when he resisted the rape attempt, due to which he was critically injured. The accused escaped from the scene after committing the crime.

A passer-by informed police about the incident who took the injured boy to District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera. He was later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar due to his critical condition. Hospital sources said Saifullah had received four bullets.

On the complaint of the injured student, a case has been registered against three accused Ahmed, Naqash and Usman. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
